H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended the Chinese New Year celebration, dedicated to the horse. The evening was organised at the Grand Excelsior Hotel in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Malta.

 

In a speech on the occasion, the President highlighted Malta’s historic relationship with China, which dates back several years, and expressed Malta’s commitment to continue to improve and strengthen this relationship for the benefit of the respective peoples.

 

The President referred, among others, to the bilateral collaboration in the education sector, which is bearing fruit. Among other things, she spoke about the agreement between Malta’s Institute Of Tourism Studies – ITS and the Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Polytechnic in China, through which Maltese and Chinese students are visiting the respective countries for educational exchanges that enhance their culinary and cultural knowledge.
