On Independence Day, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, the President of Malta, took part in the national celebrations organised by the National Festivities Committee.

 

On Sunday morning, the President was given a national salute by the Armed Forces of Malta and inspected the Guard of Honour. Afterwards, she attended the Pontifical Mass at St. John’s Co-Cathedral.

 

At the end of the mass, the President joined the country’s highest authorities in front of the Independence Monument, Floriana, where she laid a wreath.
