In a ceremony held at Verdala Castle under the patronage of the President of Malta, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, public officials who have stood out in their work were awarded.

 

Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono also gave special recognition to representatives of Government entities and departments who showed dedication, commitment and professionalism during and after “Storm Harry” last January.

 

In her speech, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono recognised the Public Service officials for their service to the public, and the continuous work being done so that this service continues to be strengthened, renewed and better responds to today’s realities.

 

While addressing the officials present for this evening, the President spoke about the technical competence, impartiality, loyalty to the Constitution and respect for democratic principles that Public Service workers should follow in their work, and the principles of ethics, transparency and accountability on which the Public Service should be based in order to continue to serve its mission, while citizens are treated with dignity and respect.
